Cougars claw through championship
The Cent ral McLean County Cougars Varsity girls basketball team lost to the Shiloh Skyhawks in the NDHSAA Class B Girls Region 5 Championship game Feb. 24 in Mandan.
The final score was 67-53.
The Cougars played an impressive game from buzzer to buzzer, showcasing the quickness and hustle of the young team.
With a full student and fan section cheering them on, the Cougars continued to work hard as they pursued the Skyhawks. After ending the first quarter with a 12-point deficit, the Cougars played aggressive basketball, not afraid to challenge the Skyhawks up-close, resulting in the third period ending with a closer score of 55-47.
