Cougars celebrate final pre-Region victory

In their last game before the Region 5 tournament, the McLean County Cougars took a 57-29 victory against the Max Cossacks last Tuesday.
The Cougars took an early lead, with Easton Frey and Jarrett Troyna scoring five points before Erick Talbott took the Cossacks to the scoreboard with a free-throw. Troyna responded with a field goal and Ashton Yellowbird, with a stolen ball, for a twopointer. A rebound from Frey secured two points for the team. Julius Anderson swept in, making his first of four threepointers in the quarter. For the Cossacks, one of four free throws between Cole Huesers and Jayden Whanger were successful. With Anderson’s three-pointers, the Cougars had a double-digit lead, with the quarter ending 21-6 in favor of Central McLean.
