Half way through the season, the Central McLean Cougar girls have won half of their games, recently going 1-2 on the hard court.
The win came Thursday night on the Cougars’ Underwood court as they turned back the New Salem
Holsteins by the score of 43-35, led by sophomore guard Ashtyn Smith’s 13 points.
Smith scored seven of her points the first stanza as the Cougars jumped to a 12-7 lead. The Holsteins made a late charge the final eight minutes, but the Cougars were able to pull away for the win.
