Cougar boys take fourth at Hazen

Despite a cold, windy day, the Cougar boys still managed to shine at last Saturday’s Hazen meet. The boys took home fourth place with 73.5 points. The girls managed 18th place on Saturday with four points for the day. Head Coach Lee Weisgarber said, "The boys had a pretty good overall meet while missing most of our TL-M athletes due to prom." Highlights of the Hazen meet included Ben Duben winning the discus with his best throw of the season at 137’ 4". Weisgarbers said, "I believe Mick (Finneman) ran his best time ever in the 300-meter hurdles at 44.22, placing him third." Beau Zietz had a good throw to place fifth in the shot. And discus throws took first, second and eighth with Duben, Reed Hefta, and Zietz respectively. Aaron Isaak won the high jump, and Brandon Aldinger placed third. In the long jump, Derek Isaak placed sixth, while brother, Aaron, brought home seventh. In the triple, the two boys switched places with A. Isaak taking sixth and D. Isaak taking seventh. Top scorers for Saturday’s meet were A. Isaak with 15, Finneman, 11; Duben, 10.5; Hefta, 8; and Aldinger with 7.75.
