Cougar baseball continues to struggle

By Brenda L. Shelkey

The McLean County Cougars who went 0-2 for the week against Garrison last Tuesday. They were rained out on Thursday and the game against Mohall-Sherwood (M-L-S) was postponed. Despite the loss to Garrison, Head Coach AnDrew Zurcher was encouraged by the improvements. He said, "Tuesday we lost 4-1 in a game that was pitched very well by Matt Landenberger. Garrison had basically two big hits that won it for them." The Cougars went down 4-1 and 19-3 against the Troopers. "We continue to struggle offensively," said Zurcher. "We are slowly improving, but so does everybody else, so it is hard to make it look like we are actually making progress." During the Garrison game Landenberger and Jeremy Wurtz were the stand-out players for the Cougars.
