Comets, Trojans win tourney openers

Underwood and Turtle Lake-Mercer advanced to Tuesday night’s semifinal round of the District 10 volleyball tournament after winning their first-round matches in Center.
Underwood easily handled Washburn by the score of 3-0, while the Trojans had to play one more game on their way to a 3-1 over Garrison--Max.
The wins set the stage for the Trojans to take on top-seeded Wilton-Wing Tuesday at 6 p.m, and Underwood to take on second-seeded Center-Stanton in the following match.
Monday night, the Comets dominated the Cardinals, winning two sets 25-18, and sandwiching in a 25-12 annihilation between the two wins.
