Comets look to rebound from downward funk

Bruno Mars is all about uptown funk being a great thing. Being in a volleyball funk – not so much.
“We are in a funk,” commented Underwood Volleyball Coach Mary Hefta following the Comets’ recent 3-0 loss to Beulah, and a 3-1 loss to Wilton-Wing.
“Wilton came out like gangbusters and we struggled in the first set and just couldn’t catch up.”
Throughout the early part of the season when the Comets found themselves suddenly trailing in sets, they had been able to get things together and rally back for the win.
Lately, that hasn’t been the case, and Hefta is looking for things to turn around as they head toward the second half of the season and the upcoming regional tournament in November.
