Comets kept up fight against Solen

The Underwood Comet boys knew they would be playing the second game of the quarterfinals in Region 5 basketball on Monday. They just didn’t know what team they would be playing. It wasn’t until about 12:45 p.m. on Monday that head coach Kyle Hunt received word that his team would be playing the Solen Sioux. The Comets had the third seed from District 10 and played the second seed from district nine. The Sioux came out hot and led 10-0 in the first few minutes of play. After Hunt called a time out the Comets hit the floor running. The Comets reduced the Sioux lead to three points, 14-11, when junior Nick Lee had a put-back off the offensive board and was fouled. Lee made the "and one" free throw and with 3:24 the Comets were back in the game.
