Comets dominate in region qualifier

After a tough overtime loss against the Turtle Lake-Mercer Trojans the night before in District 10 semi-final action in Washburn Friday night, the Comets were looking for redemption. Most of all they were looking for a win. The Comets met the Max Cossacks in the regional qualifier game that would decide who would travel to Mandan for the Region 5 tournament starting on Feb. 22. The Comets took control with the jump and never looked back. Junior Alix Auck had the first nine points of the game to set the tone for the rest of the night. The Comets led by 13 at the end of the first quarter and the lead increased in each quarter. Auck led all scorers with 29 points and 13 rebounds attaining another double double for her stats. Eighth grader Abby Landenberger tossed in 11 points and nabbed five rebounds in the win.
