The final regular season district games for District 10 are wrapping up this week, and as of Tuesday morning, before the Comets’ final district game with Center, the Comets looked to have a hold on the first-place seed going into next week’s tournament.
Underwood Coach Jared Kautzman was hoping to bring home one more win, to add to the two recent wins this past week, as his girls look at the upcoming tourney.
“We need good defense and continuing to not turn the ball over,” said Kautzman. Those will be the keys to taking the district title.
The Comets did their job of not turning the ball over in Saturday’s 53-47 win over Dunseith, as they gave it up just 10 times for the game.
That’s a number Kautzman can live with.
The Comets also picked up another win on the hard court this week, pulling off an overtime 49-45 win over Wilton-Wing – that coming after two of the Comet starters fouled out in the fourth quarter.
