Comet boys going up-tempo

Last Tuesday night, the Max Cossacks looked like a better basketball team than the last time the Comets took them on, according to Comet Head Coach Steve Cottingham. But, since the Comets defeated Max again, one could assume the Comets are looking better than they were earlier, too. “I thought Max was a much improved team from the first time we saw them,” said Cottingham. “I guess that translates to we needed to be playing better to get the win.” The Comets turned back Max 57-47 last Tuesday in Underwood after falling to a home-standing Drake-Anamoose 59-44 Monday. Their next outing is this Friday, when the Comets travel to Garrison for a district match-up. “We’re going to have to keep playing fast-paced,” said Cottingham. “Garrison likes to push the ball, and they like to pressure you defensively a little bit. We have to match that.
