Central McLean rolls over Linton/H-M-B
Central McLean (Underwood/Turtle Lake-Mercer/McClusky) used a 29-6 run in the second quarter to take control, and the Cougars cruised to a 66-37 victory over Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock, Feb. 18, in Turtle Lake. The Cougars improved to 14-4 on the season, while LHMB fell to 12-6.
LHMB jumped out to a 7-2 lead three minutes into the game after Levi Keeney connected on a three-pointer from the right wing, and the Lions still held a 9-4 advantage after Keeney put in a lay-up midway through the first quarter. However, it would be all CM from there, as LHMB went scoreless over the rest of the period, while the Cougars closed out the frame with a 9-0 run, and Samuel Benson’s field goal near the end of the quarter gave CM a 13-9 advantage.
