The Central McLean Girls Golf Team ended the high school golf season with a bang last week in Carrington at the state girls golf tournament. Junior golfer Sam Cottingham placed fourth with a two-day total of 167. Cottingham tied with two other golfers, Haily Abel from Larimore and Jinny Miller from Hazen. The top 10 place winners are the All-State Class B Girls Golf Team for the season. The Cougar golf team also played well and shot their best golf of the season. Head coach Toni Cottingham was very proud of her girls, “They were all nervous going into the tournament, but did a super job of settling down and playing some of their best golf of their careers.” She added, “What a great atmosphere and experience!”
