Central McLean Cougars punch ticket to District 8 Finals
The Central McLean Cougars boys basketball team is making a statement in the postseason.
After a dominant regular season, the third-seeded Cougars entered the NDHSAA Division B District 8 Tournament in Garrison with one goal in mind—earn a spot in the Region 4 Tournament and continue their push for a State Tournament berth.
Central McLean opened the tournament against sixth-seeded New Salem-Almont, and from the start, they controlled the game.
Their defense set the tone early, limiting New Salem-Almont’s offensive opportunities, while their balanced attack on the other end of the court led to a commanding 60-32 victory.
