Central McLean captures District 8 Title
The NDHSAA Girls Basketball District 8 Tournament delivered three days of intense competition from February 14-17 at Washburn High School, culminating in a nail-biting 51-50 victory for Central McLean over host Washburn in the championship game.
The tournament saw all eight teams battle for supremacy, with the top four finishers—Central McLean, Washburn, Garrison, and New Salem-Almont—advancing to the Region 4 Tournament. Each team faced tough matchups across the three-day stretch, testing their endurance and adaptability in a postseason atmosphere.
The opening round of the District 8 Tournament largely followed the seeding, with the top-ranked teams securing dominant wins.
