Annual Homeshow Showcases local dance talent

An annual tradition, this year’s Homeshow dance exhibition at the Underwood School featured a new aspect: a traveling dance troupe joining local Central McLean County dancers for an afternoon of performances. Northern Cass High School’s dance team traveled to participate in this year’s Homeshow, held Feb. 27. Local dance teams from Soul Motion, coached by Ashley Ross, also performed for the crowd.

The Homeshow showcases performances from student dancers. It’s an opportunity for the community to see the teams’ routines outside of a competition, which typically take place on the road.

Soul Motion Petites, Minis and Juniors teams each performed routines. The Central McLean Cougar dance team performed their hiphop routine, which earned second-place at this year’s state tournament. The “veteran’s” dance, featuring dancers who have been in the program for a few years, was elegant and showcased the team’s robust talent in a variety of dance techniques.
