Central McLean senior thrower Dillon Aldinger capped his senior athletic season with a medal from the State Track and Field Meet held this past Friday and Saturday in Bismarck. Aldinger’s discus throw of 138-11 was good enough for fifth place at the state meet, where he took on not only the state’s other top throwers, but some nasty weather conditions as well. “He didn’t throw his best there, but for the conditions, he threw very well,” praised CM coach Lee Weisgarber.  “Any time you can get up on the award stand at state, you’re doing great.” Aldinger was the lone Cougar to score at the meet, as the young Cougar teams took on some seasoned athletes at the state’s largest athletic competition. “Some of them were really kind of in awe when we got there,” said Weisgarber, who noted the girls’ two relay teams, the 4 x 400 and 4 x 200, are made up of a seventh grader (Emily Eichhorst), an eighth-grader (Madison Holm), a freshman (Chailee Berg) and a junior (Caitlyn Berg); and long-jumper Miriah Sellon is an eighth-grader.
