The Trojans were the fifth-place winners at the Mandan Holiday tournament at Mandan High School.
Second-half spurt spurs Comets to win
It took the whole first half for the Comet girls to get their mojo working together, as the Underwood team turned a one-point half-time lead to an 11-point victory Tuesday night.
UHS boys take fifth
The Comets brought home the consolation championship from the Velva Invitational Saturday night, bouncing back from a first-round loss to handle Glenburn by the score of 53-36 in the semis, and South Prairie 50-44 in the fifth-place game.

The Underwood Comets started the New Salem Invitational on a high note Tuesday, dropping Flasher 58-36. Then they ran into potentially the region’s top team in round two, and a lid over the bucket in the battle for third place.

The Underwood Comets saw their dreams of competing at the state volleyball tournament in a couple weeks come to an end at the hands of Grant County Monday night, as Grant County downed the Comets 3-0 in first-round action of the Region 5 volleyball tournament in Bismarck.

‘Cats turn back Comet netters
The Center-Stanton Wildcats came into last Tuesday’s regional match-up against the Underwood Comets, then watched as that number one spot started fading away as the home-standing Comets defeated the Wildcats in the first two sets, 25-15 and 25-18.
Comet netters drop two
It’s still a toss-up who will automatically be earning berths at the upcoming regional tournament in Bismarck, but this past Thursday’s 3-0 loss to Shiloh Christian didn’t do the Underwood Comets any favors.
