Youngster with gumption raises money for library
By Michael Johnson, Editor
Jewel Maxwell has something that a lot of kids are missing out on. Drive. The 5-year-old positioned herself with her mom and grandma under the eave of the Goetz Funeral Home doorway from the morning through the entire day of Saturday during Underwood’s Harvest Fest. With kids running and playing around her, fun things to do all day, she stood by her lemonade and pickle-on-a-stick stand pushing her product with a goal in mind. She wanted to raise money for the Underwood Public Library. “It was all her idea,” Jewel’s grandma Myra Rasmusson said.
