Wolf Creek area property owners question subdivision

By Stu Merry, BHG News Service

Traffic concerns, covenants and drainage fears have put a temporary halt to a proposal by Alan Ness to develop a 40-lot subdivision near Wolf Creek. The development would be called Mallard Island View Estates South. At the Sept. 20 county commission meeting, members heard feedback from a number of property owners who live near the proposed subdivision. The input was enough for commissioners to hold up the project until those issues are addressed. Road placement and safety were concerns held by property owner David Beck. Karen Czaplewski feared there would be additional runoff and drainage from the property once it’s developed. “When you develop 40 lots … and big buildings, runoff comes quickly,” she said. “We are not convinced we are not going to have more problems. We are very concerned with engineering for where the water is going to run.”
