Wholesale Ag named outstanding pesticide dealer

When state inspectors make their rounds of over 1,000 seed and chemical sites throughout the state of North Dakota, they keep an eye out for those that go above and beyond what’s expected. In the process of all those inspections, the state inspectors nominate six businesses for the Outstanding Pesticide Dealer of the Year award. For the second year in a row, Wholesale Ag Products West of Underwood was nominated for that distinction. This year, they had the honor of being selected the top site. “We were the fortunate ones to get picked,” said Chad Olson, owner of Wholesale Ag Products West. Olson started the business 10 years ago with his wife Jennifer after working for a time at the Cenex in Washburn (1999) and ADM-Benson Quinn out of Underwood. He was approached by some farmers about starting his own local business. With a leap of faith, the Olsons did so. They started with one building with one bulk tank on the corner of the property in Underwood. “The business just kept growing,” Olson said. “We never dreamed it would go like this."
