Volunteers creating ‘unbearably’ good moments

A little “halleluiah” moment goes a really long way these days. Underwood City Auditor Diane Schell knows there is a lot to do around the city to keep it looking neat and tidy, and
sometimes it takes a little help from a volunteer or two. She was recently surprised by some volunteers who just stepped up to do something they saw needed to be done. One of those good deeds – the painting/staining of the bears at Underwood’s Pioneer Park – was done anonymously. “It was just done,” said Schell. “I knew they needed some help and that they needed to be painted or stained, and I kept looking at them thinking ‘when is this going to get done,’ and it was just done.” There are lots of things like that going on that people don’t
even know about, said Schell. Last Tuesday she was at the county fair grounds and she was thinking she needed to get back out there to mow the grass (she’s the county fair board president). By the time she went back out to the fairgrounds that afternoon, it had all been mowed.
