Underwood students perform ‘Miracle’

It’s the time of year for singing and celebrating. About 90 Underwood Elementary school students sang out holiday celebrations Monday night with their performance of "Miracle on Bethlehem Street: A Christmas Musical for Children." Directed by Underwood music teacher Heidi Quinn, the program began with instrumental performances by members of the fifth and six grade bands. The sixth grade band performed "The Twelve Days of Christmas," and then teamed up with the fifth graders for "Good King Wenceslas." The fifth graders also performed "Jolly Old St. Nicholas." After those songs, actors from the sixth grade class began performing "Miracle on Bethlehem Street." The story is a light-hearted adaptation of the Nativity story, with actors portraying usual holiday characters like kings, shepherds, heralds, Joseph and Mary.
