Underwood resident is named ANR Extension agent

Jim Gray, NDSU Extension West District Director, announced to the McLean
County Commission Tuesday the addition of a new agriculture and natural resources (ANR) Extension agent Sarah Bedgar.
Gray relayed additional information to the commissioners. “Bedgar grew up on her family’s diversified crop and livestock farm in Maryland where they produced dairy, beef, swine, eggs, and a variety of crops. She was actively involved with 4-H and earned the title of Maryland 4-H All Star. Sarah was also the Maryland Dairy Princess.”
Bedgar earned a B.S. in animal science from the University of Maryland, where she obtained a minor in international agriculture and natural resources. She completed six internships, ranging in locations from Texas to France. She also earned an M.S. in animal science from NDSU where she served as a graduate assistant to the Extension dairy specialist. She served as the National Jersey Cattle Princess and helped found the NDSU Collegiate Farm Bureau Chapter.
