Two injured near Underwood

Two people were injured Christmas Eve when the vehicle they were in went out of control and overturned on U.S. Highway 83 near mile marker 139, just south of Underwood.
According to the McLean County Sheriff’s Department, authorities were dispatched to the accident at 5:50 p.m.
The vehicle, driven by John Elkins, 42, of Mandan, was southbound when it went out of control, entered the median and overturned, coming to rest on its roof on the inside shoulder of northbound lane.
A unidentified passenger was transported by the Underwood Ambulance Service to a Bismarck medical center.
Assisting the sheriff’s department was the Underwood Fire Department.
