Turtle races a go

There will be turtle races at this year’s Turtle Days – but will there be turtles in the parade?
The Turtle Lake Boy Scout Troop answered the call when the Turtle Lake Chamber of Progress was looking for volunteers to organize and run the annual turtle races, and now the chamber is hoping someone will answer the call to get the two parade turtles up and running for this year’s annual Turtle Days parade in a few weeks.
The consensus of those attending Wednesday’s regular chamber meeting was that the two golf cart-driven turtles were long-time staples in the parade, but neither of them has made an appearance in the parade for a few years as both of them are in need of some repair.
“One of the two should be able to get going,” commented the chamber’s Linda Huelsman.
