TLM sets Restart guidelines

They’ll all be in their places, with bright, shining faces. Well, not all, but most will be there this Wednesday when Turtle Lake-Mercer School opens its doors for the 2020-21 school year. As of Monday afternoon only five students had registered for distance learning, according to TLM Supt. Sheila Schlafmann. Approximately 175 students have registered for classes on-site, which will be moving forward with Smart Re-start guidelines, including the use of masks when the students are unable to socially distance the minimum of six feet. “They’re not wearing them all the time in the classrooms, TLM sets Restart guidelines but when passing in the hal lway, and when using school transportation, they will be,” said Schlafmann. The school will not be doing temperature checks unless there is a suspicion a child may not be feeling well. The school will be relying on parents to take their children’s temperatures before sending them to school – and if they have a temperature, to keep them home.
