Turtle Lake-Mercer Salutatorian Ben Goven warmed up the crowd with a joke about the slow-paced life of a Turtle Lake-Mercer student, and Valedictorian Ryeleigh Laib reminded her classmates and the audience of their time in school that passed in the blink of an eye.
With Goven noting that the class wasn’t there for a long time, but was there for a good time (ala George Strait), Laib elaborated on some of their escapades, including their kindergarten attempt to get to play with the first-graders at recess. It landed them on the sidewalk for the rest of recess and instilled the idea that they needed to “follow and respect the rules.”
Addressing her classmates, Laib noted that it is time to move on and focus on the future, urging her “brothers and sisters” to strive for success.
