The annual TL-M FFA Spaghetti Feed and Labor Auction was Monday evening in the Ed Rath Auditorium at Turtle Lake School.
The event raised a total of $6,750 for the Turtle Lake-Mercer FFA chapter. FFA advisor Paul Buchholz says the 2022 labor auction was a success for the students. “This was the biggest one since I have been here,” Buchholz said. “The labor auction is always well
supported by the community. We have a tight knit community and I can’t believe how well supported we are, not just with money but with people’s time, like Daryl.” Auctioneer Daryl Lies led the auction. Lies has been the auctioneer at the event for a few years and knows many of the students. He bantered with the kids and their parents throughout the auction. The audience bid on 20 pairs or individual students. Students commit a certain number of hours to provide services such as yard work, help on the farm or ranch, housework, or babysitting.
