Tech students are a click above the rest

When the Underwood business technology students walk into Minot State University every year, everybody takes notice. They’re like celebrities in the computer world. Everyone knows that at the Minot State University Technology Day, Underwood is the team to beat. But for five years in a row, no one has been able to do it. This year, the team included Jeremy Wirtz, Megan Hotten, Kaylee Tishmack, Teri Heidelberger, Brianne Halstead, Charley Auck and Emily Johannes. Their instructors are Julie Driessen and Nita Anderson. Driessen said that the school board, administration and staff have worked to keep technology in the forefront. That and a quality education are some important factors to the student success year after year. “Most of our students have a well-rounded education in all subjects which helps in the competition,” Driessen said.
