It’s not a shocker that summer school can get a little sticky – especially if the air conditioning isn’t working.
The COVID-19 pandemic has put a new spin on “sticky summer school” as sticky notes area popular weapon in combating the chaos that comes with the virus.
When summer school started in Underwood just after July 4, teacher Sarah Wilson was busy labeling which students will use which supplies. The labeling and separation of tools gives a little insight into what school might be like this fall when area students make their way back to school.
“We’re having fun in summer school,” commented Sarah Wilson, as she shuffled a deck of UNO cards.
She and her two students were playing UNO with a twist, as sight words have replaced the numbers that are usually on a deck of UNO.
Summer school is quite a bit more casual than regular school, noted Wilson, as she tries to incorporate a lot more fun and games as the students continue their education through the summer.
