Ssssmokin’ -- at Westridge

It’s going to be smokin’ hot at the Westridge Golf Course next Saturday as the Westridge Golf Club presents “Smokefest 2016.”
The event features a smoked-meat challenge where participants pit their signature smoked meats against one another for top honors.
There are two categories – ribs and poultry, and prizes will be awarded in both categories.
While golf season would seem to be winding down, event co-organizer Lindsey Johnson says the members of the golf club are hoping folks will come out to the Smokefest to take in the festivities, and check out the golf course.
“We’re hoping to get people out to the golf course, they’ll remember us and come out golfing next year,” said Johnson.
Whether it’s kismet, coincidence, or perhaps just luck, the golf club members were able to book the band “Smokin’ Joe” for the night, noted Johnson.
