Spillway Café serving up coffee-house charm

Locals who may be feeling the yen for a pumpkin pie spiced latte or a peppermint mocha won’t have to travel nearly an hour to get one anymore, as the employees at the Spillway Café in Riverdale will happily fill those orders.
The Spillway Café, the newly-renovated Burger Stop located on the outskirts of Riverdale along ND Highway 200, recently opened its doors and will be serving breakfast, lunch and pretty much any type of latte, cappuccino or cup of coffee one could ask for, serving between the hours of 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lee Bertsch, owner of Knights Grill and Bar in Riverdale, also owns the Spillway Café, hoping to fill the niche market for coffee lovers.
While Bertsch is the owner of the café and coffee bar, Jonna Taylor is the manager who will be running the day-to-day operation.
Taylor, who recently moved back to Riverdale with her husband after living in Alaska for several years, is glad to be back in Riverdale, and glad to be managing the new restaurant.
