Smalls, Goven, lead TL-M class of '20

The Turtle Lake-Mercer graduating class of 2020 will hold its commencement ceremony this Sunday at 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium, followed by a parade processional down
Main St. immediately following the ceremony. Valedictorian Miya Smalls and Salutatorian Rachel Goven are slated to give speeches at the ceremony, which up until last Tuesday night was still questionable as far as who, what, where (who would be involved, what type of ceremony would it be, and where will it be held) and how things would proceed.
At Tuesday’s special board meeting the board approved holding the ceremony in the Ed Rath Auditorium at the school, allowing a maximum of 12 guests per senior. Turtle Lake-Mercer teacher Kurt Ziebarth will be the guest speaker at the celebration, which will feature social/ physical distancing of not only the seniors but their groupings of guests as well.
