Property selling like hotcakes
By Michael Johnson, Editor
Commissioners sold six city-owned lots during the regular Underwood city commission meeting on Monday night. Four lots were sold out of the Westridge Addition for just $1 a piece. That leaves just four more lots that are available for $1. The City agreed to sell the first 10 of the 20 lots for $1 apiece. All city lots were sold on the contingency that they must be built on within one year or they go back to the City of Underwood. The following lots were sold: Brian and Renee Fransen bought Lot 6 of Block 3 in Westridge Addition for $1; Gary and Barb Wolf bought Lot 1, Block 2 for $1 in the Westridge Addition; Shauna and Timothy Roy bought Lot 4, Block 3 for $1 in the Westridge Addition; and Christopher Bogdan bought Lot 10, Block 3 for $1 in the Westridge Addition. Commissioners also came to an agreement to sell two lots along the McLean County Fair Grounds to Underwood resident Varion Hetle. Hetle parked vehicles on the property months ago and was asked to come to a meeting to talk about buying the lots and talk about his intentions with the lots.
