The four McLean County Fair Board positions have been filled and the board is already busy setting plans in motion for the 2014 county fair, which is set for June 20-22 this summer at the fair grounds in Underwood.
Vernon Edinger of Turtle Lake was re-elected for another three-year term on the board, the only one of the four open spots to retain his spot on the board. New to the board this year are Dallas Erickson of Ruso, taking the spot left vacant with the passing of Turtle Lake’s Ted Hochsprung; Sadie Wardner of Turtle Lake, and Mary Hauf of Max. Wardner and Hauf replace outgoing board members Ken Baer of Garrison, who is headed to Afghanistan for a stint with the National Guard; and Kyle Giffey of Garrison.
Underwood’s Diane Schell was re-elected president of the board, while Hensler’s Dean Scheetz was elected vice-president, Kathy Neumiller of Washburn was elected treasurer, and the secretary position is still open.
There will be a lot of new things on tap for this year’s fair, as well as a lot of the old traditional favorites as the board members work on lining up this year’s entertainment.
