Turtle Lake’s Zona and Darrel O’Shea will be celebrating their 50th anniversary this October, and “the powers that be” who choose the Turtle Days King and Queen thought it more than appropriate that the twosome would be chosen to represent their community at this year’s Turtle Days.
The O’Sheas, along with their prized Percheron team of horses, will be making their way through this year’s Turtle Days parade this Saturday starting at 10 a.m., welcoming folks to the annual festivities.
“I said the only way I’d do it is if I got to use my horses,” said Darrel, who is known throughout the area and beyond for the Percherons, the horses the O’Sheas use when they put on hay rides at Christmastime.
“Hopefully we’ll have some grandkids that ride with us in the back and throw candy,” added Zona.
