One man’s junk, another’s treasure
By Michael Johnson Editor The city has been ordered by the First District Health Unit to clean the property of Blackie Weisenburger of any junk, trash or miscellaneous debris. They have been ordered to do so by this spring if Weisenburger cannot do so himself. The city also purchased the lot across the street from the Weisenburger residence. That lot must also be cleared of all trash, junk and miscellaneous debris at the same time. Anything on that property must be removed from the city property. A letter of notice to remove the debris from the lot was sent in August from the First District Health Unit. At that time Weisenburger was asked to remove property from the lot within 30 days. Weisenburger said circumstances have made that deadline difficult to reach. Weisenburger said he has undergone back, double knee and hip surgery since the late ‘80s and has to go through therapy daily along with making frequent trips to the Fargo VA Clinic.
