New fourth grade teacher fits in

The new kid in school always has it rough, but Deann Brunelle manages pretty well. As Underwood’s new fourth grade teacher, she faces certain challenges, but years of substitute teaching experience has made the transition to full-time teaching very smooth, Brunelle said. "These past two weeks have been just fun for me," she said. It’s neat to have her own classroom because in the past she had moved from one classroom to the next as a substitute, she said. Another thing that made the transition seamless is the fact that Brunelle is definitely familiar with Underwood Elementary School. She worked for two years as elementary school secretary, all the while substituting as needed.
