The Underwood School Board is finding itself taking care of quite a few personnel changes involving administration as well as staff members following recent resignations.
Following the retirement notice of elementary principal Barb Robinson, the board had already approved moving secondary principal Lee Weisgarber to the elementary principal position, but the board recently revised its stance, offering Weisgarber the principal position for both elementary and secondary, Pre-K through 12th grade.
In other administration staffing issues, the board also revised Supt. Brandt Dick’s position, upping his part-time position to a full-time superintendent position. Supt. Dick will also be the Activities Director position.
Supt. Dick said the decision to have him to go full-time has a lot to do with having just one principal instead of two, as the head administrative duties will now be accomplished by the two administrators instead of three.
In other staffing issues, the board accepted the resignation of business manager Bobbi Jo Anderson, who indicated she has accepted a position with the Garrison School District, and also the resignation of third-grade teacher Kari Stansfield, who has accepted a position with the Watford City school district. High school science teacher Jacelyn Brown will also not be returning for the upcoming school year, as she did not sign the upcoming year contract.
