More bang for buck with Merchant Bucks

The Underwood Civic Club is tweaking the events it puts on each year, discussing what changes could be made to improve the Harvest Fest, the recently-held Go Loco for Local promotion, as well as the upcoming Hometown Holiday activities.
The group firmed up its dates for the Hometown Holiday promotion, which brings Santa to town for Kids’ Shopping Day on Saturday, Dec. 6 at city hall. It coincides with the Kountry Kids annual craft fair, which will also be held at the city hall.
Santa will be reading a story, having a few Christmas cookies, and visiting with the children from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
The civic club is encouraging local children to shop in Underwood for their Christmas presents, offering a terrific exchange on cash for merchant bucks.
Children may "buy" merchant bucks for 1-1/2 times the value of the money they pay. (For instance, $10 buys $15 in merchant bucks). Merchant bucks may be used to purchase items any time that day after 10 a.m.; they must be used Saturday, Dec. 6. A maximum of $50 may be exchanged for $75 in merchant bucks.
Sunday, Dec. 7 brings the Just For Kix Holiday Show, which features performances from the Underwood and Garrison Just For Kix dancers. The show is an annual fundraiser for Santa’s Helpers, with 100 percent of the admission going to Santa’s Helpers.
