McLean County signs letter of support for highway name change
McLean County leaders are showing their support with a potential highway name change that would honor fallen peace officers.
Commission Vice Chairman Curt Olson told his fellow commissioners Jan. 21 there is a potential bill being draft at the 69th Legislative Session seeking to rename N.D. Highway 200 to North Dakota Fallen Peace Officer Memorial Highway.
Proponents of the bill are asking counties with the highway running through it for support of the name change.
“There is really no cost to the county,” Olson told the county leaders.
