‘You’re going to fall, get used to it’
It’s 4:30 a.m. at the Orth home in Riverdale. Gracie and her mom Amy are already awake, ready to hit the road for their morning commute to Minot.
Ice time in Minot starts at 6 a.m., and eighth-grader Gracie must be back at school in Underwood in time for first period.
Such is the routine for the Orth family. Gracie’s passion and talent for figure skating means early mornings, hours of windshield time traveling to and from practice, and weekends spent on the road at competitions.
