‘Absolutely unmatchable’
It doesn’t take long to understand why Theresa Pleinis, fourth grade teacher at Underwood Public School, won North Dakota County Teacher of the Year for McLean County this year.
“I love what I’m doing,” Pleinis said. “I get to see them as fourth graders and then turn around and see them as young adults.”
Energetic and animated, Pleinis seems quite capable of keeping up with the energy of her students, able to engage with them even when they and the rest of the nation found themselves learning through computer screens during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
