Locals on ‘lockdown’

Underwood 2015 graduates Chailee Berg and Lindsey Duben were among the students who were in class at Bismarck State College Thursday when the school went into a campus-wide lockdown.
"At first I was a little shocked, like, holy crap," said Duben. "We listened to the announcement and we thought, ‘This is real’."
Duben was in her accounting class, and Berg was in her English classroom right above the library when the announcement came over the intercom that the school was in lockdown after a threat of a school shooting in the library was received via Twitter.
The door in Duben’s classroom was immediately locked, and the students all stood up against the wall so they couldn’t be seen from the outside.
The school went into lockdown at about 11:30 a.m., and Duben was in her classroom until 2:30 p.m., when the lockdown was lifted.
Berg had a similar, but slightly more intense, experience with the lockdown, as she was in the room right above where the perceived threat was.
