Kids Shopping dollars double last year’s

Local kids turned out in big numbers at the Underwood Civic Club’s annual Kids Shopping Day this past Wednesday, spending about double in Santa Dollars of what was spent last year.
“The businesses did well,” commented civic club treasurer Danielle Levey.
The children exchange regular currency for the civic club’s Santa Dollars, getting an additional 50 percent in Santa Dollars.
The young shoppers spread their money around to several different civic club businesses, noted Levey, as the kids opted for gift cards from local restaurants, as well as more typical gifts available from The Hymnus Tree, Sodas and Things and Underwood Farm Supply.
Paul Cabrera, manager of Underwood Farm Supply, said this year’s Kids Shopping Night far surpassed the previous three years.
