Kids enjoying new Poolside Park Playground

It was like Christmas in October when Bailey Gross caught sight of the new playground standing at the ready in Poolside Park. She was one of nearly 40 youth that piled on to test the limits of the new playground set in October during a Saturday playoff game of football. The new playground replaces a metal set that has been in place in the park since about 1976. The replacement includes slides(straight, wavy and tornado style), poles, climbing bars, a spinning toy and enough exit and entrance routes to make any game of tag as challenging and fun as ever. The replacement was made possible thanks to some grant writing work done by park board member Talesa Heger. Heger said the grant that the park board received paid for about one-third of the project. The park board began working on the project about a year ago. A lot of it was just unsafe,” Heger said of the old equipment. “It just needed to be updated.”
