Underwood’s Jeff Higbie had an extra memorable Father’s Day this year, joining his dad as a marshal at the U.S. Open in Pebble Beach last month.
A casual golfer who doesn’t get out to the local golf courses as often as he’d like, Higbie was eager to have the opportunity to join his dad as a marshal on the first hole of the U.S. Open. His dad has been marshalling at tournaments in the Pebble Beach area, and this year Jeff took the opportunity to join him on the course as a marshal.
As captain of the marshals at the first hole, his dad, Ben, was actually his boss, who along with the other marshals and security personnel were tasked with keeping the tens of thousands of golf fans in line.
“They’re pretty respectful,” said Higbie, referring to the spectators in the gallery.
“The best part of it was getting to do it with my dad,” he added.
