Give an hour to help children read

By Michael Johnson, Editor

The library’s reading program works to bring more reading opportunities to area children. Each year the Friends of the Library group helps to bring movies to the library to raise money and give kids a fun place to come together. Each summer the group also helps put on a summer reading program that gives kids the chance to read and learn different crafts. In order to make sure this program can continue volunteers are needed to make sure everything is in order for the kids to work on their projects. According to Carla Landenberger, a member of the Friends of the Library, the reading program needs about four volunteers for the summer. One for each week of the four week-program. The program is in June and July and Landenberger said volunteering doesn’t get much easier than this.
