Ginger’s Bread House ready for the holidays

If nothing else, Erika Lorenz of Ginger’s Bread House in Mercer, is honest.
She’ll openly admit, and even put it in writing, that people don’t buy the gum drops she makes for her coffee shop in Mercer for their nutritional value.
“Honestly . . . there is no nutritional value in a gum drop. ~Sigh~.” Says the nutrition label on the package of gumdrops.
And furthermore, as she addresses the purchaser on the label of some of her homemade marshmallows, “Seriously? You’re looking for the nutritional information on a marshmallow?! (Ginger is silently judging you . . .)
Erika, also known to many as Ginger because of her ginger-colored locks, dishes out a dash of humor as she serves up her homemade candies and muffins alongside a nice cup of hot coffee every Saturday and Sunday.
People from all around make their way to Ginger’s Bread House to grab a quick home-made breakfast of one of her signature muffins, but more often they’ll pull up a chair at one of the tables in what used to house the Mercer branch of the Bank of Turtle Lake.
